Moosejaw is an outdoor clothing retail company based in Madison Heights, Michigan. There are 6 retail locations in Michigan and one location in Chicago, Illinois. Moosejaw provides customers with quality outdoor clothing, footwear and gear to encourage a fun and adventurous lifestyle. In addition to the Moosejaw brand, the company offers top brands such as The North Face, Patagonia, ArcTeryx and so much more.

The outdoor clothing company teamed up with South Oakland Citizens for the Homeless

to increase the number of backpacks the nonprofit would receive as donations. Through the month of August 2009, Moosejaw accepted old backpacks from customers and donated them to SOCH. Customers that donated then received 20% off their next backpack purchase as a thank-you for helping.

This charitable act was a great success and SOCH was much appreciative. Moosejaw was very happy to help such a great organization.

South Oakland Citizens for the Homeless

South Oakland Citizens for the Homeless is a nonprofit group that is working to end homelessness in the Oakland County area. They work with many companies and organizations while providing various services to reach their goal. For example, During December and January, the Unity of Royal Oak provides the "Welcome Inn" which is a shelter for the homeless to reside in during the cold winter months. This inn is run by the South Oakland Citizens for the Homeless.

Moosejaw partnered with South Oakland Citizens for the Homeless in August 2009 to help the cause. Moosejaw accepted old backpacks from customers and donated these backpacks to the nonprofit group. Customers who donated their backpack received 20% a new backpack purchase.

GlobalGiving.org

GlobalGiving is a website that connects projects, charities, events and more with people that want to help by donating money or volunteering time. People are able to search the GlobalGiving site for projects in their area to find out how they can contribute.

Moosejaw is a supporter of the GlobalGiving mission and wanted to do their part. During the month of October in 2008, Moosejaw allowed customers to pay $1.99 for their shipping box which they then donated $.99 of that to GlobalGiving.
